Masdar City is built 12km east southeast of Abu Dhabi city, next to the city airport. The city will be connected to the existing urban areas by roads and light rail systems, and its entire infrastructure is based on the concept of sustainable energy and technology. The design of the city is based on the philosophy of economic, social and
environmental sustainability. In the city where only solar energy will be used, a zero waste and zero carbon policy will be followed.
Masdar City includes residential areas, commercial businesses, restaurants, cafes, and social activity areas created with the main principles such as livable quality areas for its residents, natural systems compatible with the environment, comfort in outdoor areas, and waste management. One of the most important points for the residents and visitors of the city is the city parks with their modern concept. The city park in Masdar is one of the exemplary living spaces in the world, with innovative sustainable outdoor elements, cutting-edge approaches that capture fog to recycle water and use it for irrigation, and creative solutions that use the wind to cool the city.
The park includes children's playgrounds, a music area, and sustainability-themed art installations in an area of 2500 square meters. It has a wonderful atmosphere where residents and visitors alike can relax and have a good time with their families. The urban furniture in the parks consists of various innovative elements such as a bench that works with solar energy and offers a charging opportunity, which is applied by staying true to the main concept. It is also possible to find restaurants, cafes, and various shopping locations in the park.
When the first phase of the city, which was built in sections, was completed, the
Masdar City Central Park Phase-1 lighting project in the city was completed by Light34 Lighting in 2020. When the second phase of the city was completed, the lighting project for the second phase of the city park was carried out by our team following the innovative and breathtaking technology-filled atmosphere of the city. We are excited to re-apply our human-oriented approach, which is our main philosophy, which saves energy while lighting and adapts to green and nature by protecting it, in this project.
We wanted to blend both modern and traditional approaches in the lighting project of the park. While the product design is based on the unique architecture of the UAE, the most efficient ambient lighting is provided with lighting technology. Our
Anatolian Bollard model illuminates the walking paths in the park, and large areas are also illuminated with our Anatolian Lighting Pole model, which was custom made produced in line with the project demands. Our Pluto Floodlight products, which we placed on the pole, provided illumination of a larger area. Vela Lighting Pole, which combines aesthetic and effective lighting, enriches the ambient atmosphere with RGBW light technology.
